A Certificate is awarded to students who demonstrate, after many hours/days, that they are capable of operating a piece of equipment safely. People call it a License because it looks like a license, but legally there are no equipment safely licenses.

In order to be in full compliance with the OHSA 851 all operators of equipment have to be trained in their own working environment and handling the product also operating the equipment they are working on.
